Sweet & Spicy Meatballs Recipe by Mr. Make It Happen

SHOPPING LIST
  • 2 lbs 80/20 ground beef

  • 1 grated onion

  • 1 tbsp garlic and ginger paste

  • 1/4 cup diced parsley

  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

  • AP Seasoning and HOT AP

  • red pepper flakes

  • chili powder

  • 1-2 tbsps low sodium soy sauce

  • boursin shallot and

  • chive cheese (1/2 pack)

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 2 beaten eggs

  • 2 cups bread crumbs

Sauce:

  • 2 tbsps butter

  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 2-3 tbsps hoisin sauce

  • 2 tbsps chili garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp garlic and ginger paste

  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • sesame seeds and chives


DIRECTIONS FOR Sweet & Spicy Meatballs

PREPARATION
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C)

COOKING DIRECTIONS-MEATBALLS
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 pounds of 80/20 ground beef, grated onion, 1 tablespoon of garlic and ginger paste, 1/4 cup of diced parsley, 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil, and season the mixture with all-purpose (AP) seasoning, HOT AP seasoning, red pepper flakes, and chili powder to taste. Mix well to combine.

  2. Add 1-2 tablespoons of low sodium soy sauce to the mixture for added flavor. Mix thoroughly.

  3. Stir in 1/2 pack of Boursin shallot and chive cheese, 1/2 cup of sour cream, and 2 beaten eggs. Ensure that all the ingredients are well incorporated.

COOKING DIRECTIONS-MEATBALL FORMATION
  1. Shape the meat mixture into meatballs of your desired size. Rolling them into 1 to 2-inch meatballs works well.

COOKING DIRECTIONS-BAKING
  1. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet or in a baking dish.

  2. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven at 375°F for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and have a nice browned exterior.

SERVING
  1. Serve the Sweet and Spicy Meatballs hot, with your choice of sweet and spicy sauce for dipping or drizzling.
